Norma Callicott

Norma started her artistic journey as an oil painter, then moved to working with acrylics and pastels then started exploring various mixed mediums and processes and fell in love with the process of working with altered paper to create paper collage. 

Discarded magazine pages are altered by melting the ink with a solution, then drying the pages on a clothesline outside on bright sunny days.  The result is an interesting array of texture and pattern, some of which are further manipulated to the desired result. 

 She is inspired by pages in front of her allowing them to speak her drawing out memories and emotions to tell unique stories.
