High Energy 30

Artist(s): St. Albert High School Students

Date: May 8 to 31

Exhibition Space: Main Exhibition

For 30 years, we have been celebrating the hard work and achievement of St. Albert's high school art students. Each May, High Energy takes over our main exhibition space, filling the walls, plinths and windows with works created by artists in grades 10 to 12.

Every year, the students bring their best. This year will be no different. Over 100 students from four St. Albert high schools will showcase over 120 pieces.

But it wouldn't be High Energy without a little push from the Gallery in the form of the Challenge Project. This year's theme is "Look Up and Marvel!" We have tasked the students with stretching their creativity skyward to create dramatic suspended artworks. This challenge will push the students' technical skills, engineering and ingenuity. The pieces will float over our heads, viewable only from below, leaving us with a sense of wonder.
