Elke Blodgett

To celebrate International Women’s Month 2024, we are celebrating Elke Blodgett. A potter for over 40 years, she unapologetically forged her path.  

Opening July 11, 2024, the Art Gallery of St. Albert will host Fire in Her Hands, the first retrospective of Elke Blodgett’s visionary ceramics. The exhibition shares the story of an artist whose work gave form to dreams.  

Nearly everyone in town has a story about Elke, memories of her creating, building, advocating and preserving. Her passion, drive and dandelion fritters are vividly remembered.
