Virtual Talk for Black History Month with Robert Kpogo
Join us as we celebrate Black History Month!
Staff at the Musée Héritage Museum in St. Albert are proud to present a special virtual event on Saturday, February 19 at 2pm:
Robert Kpogo – Director of West African Music Ensemble
Born in Ghana and raised in Togo in West Africa, Robert Kpogo is a master musician and active member of Edmonton’s Wajjo African Drummers and Kekeli Dancers groups. He also teaches at the University of Alberta Department of Music as Director of the West African Music Ensemble.
Robert will be sharing his knowledge and passion by demonstrating the varieties of drums and other instruments that primarily represent the music, singing and dancing of Ewe people of the Volta region in Ghana, southern Togo and Benin.
His one hour talk is scheduled to start at 2pm.
